私が中国茶に魅せられたきっかけは、台湾茶や茶人、そして茶器との出会いでした。

そこには、湯の音、香り、器の質感、そして人の所作が織りなす静謐な世界がありました。それは単なる飲み物ではなく、「生き方」そのものを映す鏡のように感じられたのです。

私の祖先は、明治統治時代に宮大工として台湾に渡ったと聞きます。その歴史を知ったとき、なぜ自分が台湾茶や中国茶文化に惹かれるのか、心の奥で腑に落ちました。

木や土を扱い、空間に生命を吹き込む宮大工の精神は、茶の世界に通じるものがあります。おそらく私は、茶を通して血の中に受け継がれた記憶と再び出会っているのだと思います。

そして今、大学では史学を専攻し、東洋史を中心に中国茶文化の歴史的展開を研究しています。一碗の茶の背後に広がる交易、思想、美学、社会の変化。その一つひとつを紐解くたびに、茶という存在がいかに人と文化を結びつけてきたかを実感します。

私にとって中国茶の研究は、過去を学ぶことを通じて、自分のルーツと現在をつなぐ道でもあるのです。

My fascination with Chinese tea began with encounters—with Taiwanese tea, tea masters, and the art of teaware.Within those moments, I discovered a serene world woven from the sound of boiling water, the fragrance rising in the air, the texture of clay and porcelain, and the graceful movements of those who pour.It was more than just a drink; it felt like a mirror reflecting a way of life itself.

I was told that my ancestor once traveled to Taiwan during the Meiji era as a master carpenter.When I learned this history, I finally understood why I felt so drawn to Taiwanese and Chinese tea culture.The spirit of a carpenter—who works with wood and earth to breathe life into space—resonates deeply with the world of tea.Perhaps, through tea, I am encountering the memories carried within my blood once more.

Today, as a student of history specializing in East Asian studies, I am exploring the historical evolution of Chinese tea culture.Behind each cup of tea lies a vast landscape of trade, philosophy, aesthetics, and social transformation.Each time I trace these connections, I realize how profoundly tea has linked people and cultures across time.

For me, the study of Chinese tea is more than academic pursuit—it is a path that connects my roots with who I am today.
